7 countries, territories and 30 provinces participate in the Tea Festival

Comrade Ma Thi Nguyet, member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-chairman of the provincial People’s committee, Vice-head of Organizational Board of the Festival, presided over the press conference. Attending the conference were leaderships’ representatives of the relevant departments and agencies; leaderships, the press reporters of some central, local news agencies, and Party newspaper of provinces, etc.

At a press conference, provincial leaders announced that the purpose and meaning of this International Tea Festival was to introduce and broadcast tea products in Viet Nam in genera, in Thai Nguyen in particular to the internal and external  trade partners, visitors; was an opportunity to exchange experiences on tea and tea products between domestic and international enterprises of growing, processing, consuming tea;  and to create the attraction, make investors promote activities of the joint venture, association, investment partnership, etc.

According to the Organizing Board, 7 countries and territories using tea and importing the Vietnamese tea products, 30 domestic unions from provinces with the strong position of tea, and other domestic trading, processing enterprises, 50 famous tea villages and 25 typical enterprises in Thai Nguyen would take part in this Festival. The festival will take place from 9th to 15th of November, in Thai Nguyen city and districts, towns in the province. The main activities of the festival include:  the Opening ceremony; the International Symposium on Tea with the theme "Spread of Thai Nguyen tea scent"; the Tea Cultural Festival "Vietnamese Tea -  development and international integration - Place of meeting, exchanging many famous tea in the world; Exhibition of introduction about land and people of Viet Nam and Thai Nguyen, Miss-Tea land contest.  In which, the Opening ceremony will be taken place at night of 12th November, in Cao Trang hamlet, Xuan Phuc commune (Thai Nguyen city). There are also many attractive sub activities such as the Beautiful tea plant contest; Street Festival; Art program "Light - Fire - Water"; Boating race, provincial and interprovincial tours, etc.

There aer nearly 30 units, enterprises and organizations funding in kind and by cash with the total value over 10 billion VND. The province has prepared 2,700 rooms belonging 145 hotels, motels in order to guarantee living, reception of domestic and international guests. Especially, the main route from the center of Thai Nguyen City to Nui Coc Lake tourism area has been allocated 23 tea shops. Organizing board said that with the main message "Tea Vietnam’s international integration”, the expected activity in this Festival was  International Symposium on Tea and Tea Cultural Festival.

Speaking at the press conference, Comrade Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee thanked the central and provincial news agencies for their participation in the press conference. Comrade hoped that, after the conference, the news agencies, newspapers presses would continue to propagate this event so that the internal and external visitors would know and come to Thai Nguyen, contribute to the overall success of the Festival. From the province, they will also create every favorable condition for press reporters during working to serve  the propaganda to the Festival, etc.
