To implement directions of Prime Minister concerning orientation in investment into the second project of Samsung Group (South Korea) in Viet Nam, in which orientates investment into Thai Nguyen Province (as Document No. 7171/VPCP-QHQT dated September 13, 2012), Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Duong Ngoc Long chaired the meeting session with representatives of departments, divisions, branches and the People’s Committee of Pho Yen District to assess land clearance for basic infrastructure building of investors in Yen Binh industrial zone (Pho Yen) on October 20. Attending were leaders of the Provincial People’s Council and the Provincial People’s Committee, Yen Binh Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, Thai Nguyen Power Company, Thai Nguyen Communications and Thai Nguyen Clean Water Joint Stock Company (photo).

In the meeting, delegates heard statements of Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee and leaders of Yen Binh Investment and Development Joint Stock Company that generalizes construction process of Yen Binh industrial zone as well as orientates and attracts the Samsung Group to build Samsung Electronics Plant in Thai Nguyen. Accordingly, the first thing is to focus on land clearance of area of 50-70 ha, leveling and building of infrastructure also works of power, water and communications as required by the investor. Yen Binh Investment and Development Joint Stock Company has so far coordinated with the People’s Committee of Pho Yen District and provincial relevant agencies for compensation and land clearance of area of 20 ha as well as has had expectations for land acquisition of area of 30 ha by November, 2012. At the moment, two projects on improvement of Ba Hang- Tien Phong route (Pho Yen) and access road to the industrial zone have been in implementation as per with the progress.

 

After hearing statements of delegates from departments, divisions, branches, local authorities and enterprises regarding advantages, disadvantages and determination of building and attracting investors into the industrial zone, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Duong Ngoc Long highly appreciated efforts of the investor into the industrial zone as well as efforts of bodies, enterprises and locals during the past time. He affirmed that this is one of the key provincial projects to attract investors from South Korea and Japan. Hence, it is proposed that in the coming time, all related levels, branches, agencies, bodies and enterprises should better their propaganda in order for the community to strictly comply with land handover and clearance for implementations of the project; guide and facilitate the investor in completion of relevant documents; also speed up construction progress of projects on improvement of routes, access roads, power and water systems and communications within the industrial zone; and hasten progress of movement of water resources works and civil construction for building infrastructures of the industrial zone. He recommended that Yen Binh Investment and Development Joint Stock Company should be more active in financing, machines, materials and human resources also combining with relevant bodies of the province and Pho Yen District to boost progress of land clearance and infrastructures building so as to meet requirements of the investor, especially Samsung Group.

 

In the event, delegates came to an agreement on establishment of a steering committee in support of investment into projects in Yen Binh industrial zone including 28 representatives of departments, divisions, branches, agencies and enterprises in which Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Duong Ngoc Long is the head of the committee and Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nhu Van Tam is the deputy head. Regulations of working and specific task assignment for each member of the committee were also adopted in the meeting.
