Nhan visited the Learning Resource Center of Thai Nguyen University which is one of the most modern libraries of Vietnam as well as the whole region, meeting the needs of Thai Nguyen University staff and students as well as the local residents. At present, the center is home for more than 50,000 book titles, 20 databases for 85 disciplines and more than 300 high-speed computers.
Nhan also visited the dormitory of Thai Nguyen University which was built with the support of the East Meet West Foundation (EMW). This modern dormitory can domicile more than 1000 students.
Addressing at the meeting with staff and students of Thai Nguyen University, Nhan stressed its role as a regional university which is very significant for the socio-economic development of the northern mountainous area. He also reminded the university to dynamically and creatively overcome the difficulties and say no to substandard tertiary education.
Next, Nhan visited Viet Bac High School where honorably received President Ho Chi Minh three times. He highly appreciated the positive results of the school. For 50 years, it has put much effort into training ethnic minority people. At present, there are more than 2000 ethnic minority students attending the school.
