Southern Ostrobothnia region located about 320 kilometers from Helsinki with 17 provinces and cities. This region has the strengths of food processing, wood technology and construction. In recent time, Thai Nguyen and Finland’s partners have contacted, cooperated together. Since 2010, SeAMK University and Thai Nguyen University of Technology (TNUT) have exchanged lecturers and students. In 2011, the province signed a memorandum to cooperate with Salo city.
To strengthen and expand the cooperation, at the conference, Mr Duong Van Luong introduced the province's strengths and potentials, emphasizing that Thai Nguyen is a bright spot for investment attraction due to the convenient location, the transparent investment environment, and the abundant human resources. Thai Nguyen and Southern Ostrobothnia region have many potentials for cooperation in the fields of education, health, science and technology, he added.
Also at the conference, representatives of Thai Nguyen University, TNUT asked SeAMK University to continue the training association program; expanding the end-of-course internship program. The delegates of the Southern Ostrobothnia region expressed their wish to provide human resources in the field of nursing.
Discussing at the conference, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to sum up the cooperation fields with the partners of the Southern Ostrobothnia region, at the same time, expecting the the regularly exchange of two sides to strengthen and expand the cooperation, promoting the local economic development.
