On April 22nd, Ms Nguyen Thanh Hai, the Member of the Central Party Committee, the Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly delegation of the province, worked with the delegation of the Laos Embassy in Viet Nam.

Attending the meeting were Mr Vu Huy Hoang, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations; Mr Duong Van Luong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. On the delegation of the Laos Embassy side, there were Mr Sengphet Houngboungnuang, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lao People's Democratic Republic in Vietnam; Mr Tran Van Tuy, Chairman of the Central Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association; Ms Nguyen Phuong Nga, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations. 
Speaking at the meeting, Ms Nguyen Thanh Hai warmly welcomed the delegation. She informed the socio-economic development results of the province, especially the investment attraction result, and highly appreciates the good traditional friendship relationship between Vietnam and Laos in general, the provinces of two countries in particular. The province constantly maintains, promotes this relationship, she added.

Since 2011, Thai Nguyen and Luang Prabang have signed a friendship cooperation agreement. Then, the two provinces exchanged many friendly visits, cooperated in Party building, political system building, socio-economic development, security, defense, education and training. The province has collaborated with other provinces in Laos such as Houaphanh, Phongsali, Oudomxay to effectively implement cooperation activities in many fields, especially in education and training. To date, nearly 1,600 Lao students are studying at 11 colleges and universities in the province.

The Provincial Party Committee Secretary also hopes to receive the attention from the Laos Embassy and the Ambassador to strengthen the exchange and cooperation relationship between Thai Nguyen and localities, organizations, and enterprises of Laos in the fields of culture, education and training, health, investment and trade, environmental protection.

Mr Sengphet Houngboungnuang thanked the Vietnamese State in general and the Party Committee and Thai Nguyen people in particular for their support in recent years. He also expressed his impression of the outstanding development results of the province. He believes that Laos and Thai Nguyen businesses will deploy many investment cooperation programs and projects in various fields to tight their friendship relation, holding hands together steadily on integration and development.

Previously, the delegation visited ATK Dinh Hoa historical relics, the Museum of Cultures of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups.
