Celebrating traditional New Year festival for Lao and Cambodian students
On April 8, Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association in Thai Nguyen province cooperated with Thai Nguyen College to celebrate the Bunpimay and Chol Chnam Thmay Festivals for Lao and Cambodian students studying in universities and colleges in the province.
Bunpimay and Chol Chnam Thmay are the traditional New Year Festival of Laos and Cambodia that take place from 14 to 16 of April with many rituals such as bathing Buddha statues, falling water, tying threads on wrists...
To date, Thai Nguyen province has more than 1,400 Lao and Cambodian students studying at 11 universities and colleges in the province. The program has started with cultural performances performed by Lao, Cambodia, and Vietnamese students to praise the Vietnamese - Laos and Vietnamese – Cambodian relationship.
On this occasion, the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Thai Nguyen province presented many gifts to students who have got outstanding achievements in learning and training.
