EQUIPPED WITH 235 COMPUTERS AND ADDITIONAL DEVICES
The Management Board of the project, “Improving the ability to use computers and access internet”, funded by Vietnamese Public Telecommunication Services (Ministry of Information and Communications) has just equipped Thai Nguyen province with 235 computers and additional devices including printers and modems with a value of over 4 billion VND.
This is a non-refundable expenditure from the Bill & Melida Gates Foundation which was invested by the Board. The computers are equipped for 33 internet access sites including nine libraries of the province, districts, schools, hospitals and 24 post offices of the remote communes in the region such as Diem Mac, Binh Thanh (Dinh Hoa district), Trang Xa, Binh Long (Vo Nhai district); Hop Tien, Khe Mo (Dong Hy district); Binh Son (Song Cong); Phuc Thuan (Pho Yen district)....
At the same time, the Project Management Board also offered a series of internet training courses to local people who have benefited from the project. These courses provided them with the basic knowledge of computers and internet access methods. Prior to this, the Project Management Board also worked in collaboration with the provincial post office, branches of Viettel in Thai Nguyen, libraries, hospitals, and schools to prepare facilities for readers to access the internet such as computer rooms, tables, and chairs.
Equipped with the modern computers which have appropriate configuration and high speed internet, along with appropriate training courses, the project has created the best opportunities for people of Thai Nguyen as well as the farmers who live in remote areas away from access to computers and the internet for obtaining the necessary information for daily life and production process.
