Irish Minister visit Thai Nguyen

On March 16th, Irish Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Heritage & Local Government, Batt O’ Keeffe has paid a working visit to Thai Nguyen. Mr Nguyen Van Kim, vice secretary of provincial party committee and president of provincial people’s committee warmly received the delegation.

This visit was one of annual overseas exodus of Irish ministers and junior ministers for St Patrick's Day(17/3). The delegation’s goal was to better understand Thai Nguyen socio-economy and through this, to boost friendship cooperation in such area of: life quality enhancing for the poor, charity work promotion...

Addressing at the meeting, Mr Nguyen Van Kim made a brief introduction about the socio-economic development of Thai Nguyen; potential in mine ores, industry, ecological tourism... Mr Kim also extended his gratitude to the Irish friendship organizations for their charitable activities in Thai Nguyen among which was the charity work of 13 Irish volunteers at the Thai Nguyen Central for social relief.

On behalf of Irish delegation, Minister Batt O’ Keeffe thanked Thai Nguyen for its warm reception. Mr Batt O’ Keeffe expressed hope to establish a long lasting friendship cooperation with Thai Nguyen in charity work, economy, ecological tourism...

The same day, Mr Batt O’ Keeffe and his colleagues visited Thai Nguyen Central for social relief.
