Preserving and promoting the cultural value of Thai Nguyen tea

On October 22nd, the press conference on the 3rd Tea Festival, Thai Nguyen – Vietnam, 2015 was held at the headquarter of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Attending the conference were Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; representatives of the provincial departments and branches; reporters of the central, local press, radio and television agencies. Mr. Vuong Duy Bien, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Duong Ngoc Long, Deputy Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Ms. Ma Thi Nguyet, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Chief Organizer of the Tea Festival Organization Board hosted the press conference.

 

The Tea Festival is an economic and cultural event aiming to preserve and promote the tangible and intangible cultural value of Thai Nguyen tea; gradually expand cultural exchanges, economic cooperation and development, and international integration; contribute to the development of tea industry and the improvement of the tea products’ quality and value. This is also an opportunity for Thai Nguyen and other provinces, cities in the country as well to introduce and promote the tea plants, products and culture. The festival’s activities tend to tea regions and people directly producing, processing and carrying on tea business; contributing to honouring tea growers, products and the position and image improvement of the land and people of our country as well as Thai Nguyen province. Continuing to be organized with the national and international scales, the 3rd Tea Festival, Thai Nguyen – Vietnam is the combination of economic, cultural, tourism, art and festival activities. It is considered to be the momentum for the socio-economic development of the province, continuing to confirm the results of the two previous tea festivals.

 

At the conference, the provincial leaders answered the reporters’ questions related to the following: The number of tourists visiting Thai Nguyen over Tea Festivals; the accommodation facilities for tourism in the province; the exported tea production of the province; how to distinguish between  Thai Nguyen tea products with ones from other provinces, etc.

 

The 3rd Tea Festival, Thai Nguyen - Vietnam with the theme "The quintessence of Vietnam Tea Culture" is scheduled to be held from November 26th to 28th, 2015. Many special cultural and art activities, programs will take place at the festival. In the framework of the Festival, the “Miss Tea-land Contest” will be held to honour the traditional beauty of Vietnamese women in general and Thai Nguyen women in particular.
