Thai Nguyen receives first-class Independence Medal and launches 2008 emulation movement
Attending the opening ceremony were Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan, Vice President; Mr. Nguyen Van Vuong, Secretary of the Standing Committee of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, Head of Thai Nguyen National Assembly Delegation as well as representatives of Thai Nguyen provincial party committee, Thai Nguyen provincial people''s council, Thai Nguyen provincial people''s committee and national heroes.
At the ceremony, Mr. Pham Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee made a report on the 2007 patriotic emulation movements. In 2007, the province has reached the highest annual average growth rate within the last ten years (12.46%). The average income is 8.64 million VND/ person/year and the economic balance has changed positively: service industry density reached 36.20% whereas agriculture density decreased (24.25%o). Besides, other social-cultural, medical, educational activities and securities were put into account. To turn the poor province into a industrial one before 2020, Thai Nguyen authority and people are trying to reach the GDP growth rate of more than 12.5% beforehand.
He also launched the 2008 patriotic emulation movements and called upon Thai Nguyen people to try for new successes, contributing to the success of the five-year plan (2005-2010).
Addressing at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan, Vice President highly appreciated the success of Thai Nguyen authority on promotion tasks. She also reminded them to perform the Democratic Regulations at grassroots level as well as find concrete solutions for 2008 emulation movement. It is necessary to put much attention on social issues while improving the provincial economy. On the occasion of a new year, she wished Thai Nguyen authority and people would reach great success.
Ms. Doan awarded the first-class Independence Medal for the provincial authority and Labour medal for individuals with prominent performance. The emulation flags and certificates of merit from Prize Minister were presented to 15 teams and individuals. 15 teams and 28 individuals also received emulation flags and certificates of merit from the provincial authority.
