With the topic "Rescue device used for high-rise buildings", Vu Thanh Binh, class 10A7 and Truong Duc Viet, class 10A2, two students of Thai Nguyen High School (photo) excellently won one of 5 first prizes of the Science - Technology contest for Thai Nguyen students in the school year 2021 - 2022. It is an idea with practicality, novelty, creativity, and humanity towards people's safety.

They started this idea at the beginning of 2021. Vu Thanh Binh shared: "According to my survey, the devices to assist in rescue work (such as helicopter, rescue ladder truck, slide, rope ladder, air mattress...) has many disadvantages.

Therefore, Vu Thanh Binh and Truong Duc Viet set the goal of designing a device for the rescue force to go up to the high floors to carry out their mission and overcome the limitations of existing devices.

Truong Duc Viet said: "We encountered difficulties, mainly in technical aspects, when we first started this idea. Typically, how to design the equipment to meet the following requirements: to carry loads from 150 - 400kilograms to move up to the upper floors of the building; easy and fast transportation and installation with high safety; rescue height is not limited; investment cost and ability to transfer technology suitable to domestic conditions. With the help of Mr. Ha Manh Khuong, teacher of Physics subject (Thai Nguyen High School), and experts from Simply The Best Skill Training Center (STB), we have gradually solved those difficulties.”

After the research and implementation process, the group has completed the model. Using drones for rescue is a new idea. The board of examiners highly evaluated this idea on feasibility and applicability.

Vu Thanh Binh shared: "In the coming time, I continue to research and create the designed rescue equipment and the brake system to ensure the safety. I think that the development of technology and science makes changes in our lives as jobs, lives, or demands. The contest is a helpful playground to help me and students passionate about research make dreams come true.”
